Link: Rigid body that has at least two nodes, that are the tie points with other links. The number of nodes gives its name him to the link:
Binary = two nodes, Tertiary = three nodes, etc.

Together or even kinematic: Connection between two or more links than allows to some movement or potential movement between the connected links. They can be classified in several ways:

By the number of degrees of freedom.

- Rotational 1 GDL

- Prismatic or Sliding 1 GDL

By the type of contact between the elements.

· Inferior kinematic complete or even Union: superficial contact

· Superior average or even Union kinematic: contact on a line or a point

To the meetings with two GDL it is called semitogether to them.

1. By the type of closing of the meeting.

· Forma: its form allows to the union or the closing

· Force: it requires of an external force to stay in contact or closes.

1. By the number of connected links or order of the meeting.

It is defined as the number of links connected except one.

Chain kinematics: It is an interconnected joint of links and meetings so that they provide a movement of exit controlled in answer to a proportionate movement of entrance.

Crank: Link that carries out a complete return or revolution, and is pivoted to a fixed element.

Oscillating balance beam or: Link that has oscillating rotation and is pivoted to a fixed element.

Connecting rod or coupler: Link that has complex movement and is not pivoted to a fixed element.

Fixed element: Any links (or link) that is subject in the space, without movement in relation to the reference frame.

A mechanism is a system of ready elements to transmit movement in a predetermined way. Examples: pencil sharpener of crank, stopper of camera, analogical clock, pliable chair, adjustable lamp and parasol.

On the other hand, a machine is a system of ready elements to transmit movement and energy in a predetermined way. Examples: mixer beater or of foods, door of the vault of a bank, gear of transmission of an automobile and robot.
